Max takes the reins

There is a gorgeous, antique carousel on the Brooklyn waterfront. It was restored and encased in a glass pavilion from which there are wonderful views of the Manhattan skyline. Max loved it so much we'll make it a regular tradition. 

 

Just in case he felt too butch while commando crawling ...

Anticipating that Max would be crawling on a hardwood floor, Jeff bought him a pair of knee pads.  They are pink, have ruffles, and a bunny on each knee. Will he ever forgive us? At least his knees are grateful. 

Brunch in Dumbo

The highchair is buying us time to eat our pancakes before they get cold, and Max loves the view from Down Under the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge (DUMBO)

Parenthood, a lesson in improvisational technique

Urban babies have to eat on the go! We are keeping this kid on a schedule; better than can be said of the MTA.

This was the image on the baby monitor at 5:45am this morning. Max can now pull himself up to stand in his crib. But then he can't get down. Given his complete lack of respect for the law of gravity, and general desire to climb over any obstacle, we are in trouble!

In a moment of desperation, to distract Max so he would take his bottle, I gave him my iPhone and he snapped these fabulous self portraits. He is taking after his uncle Charlie.

Easter bonnet

Max's Easter bonnet was handmade by GiGi's housekeeper, Carmen. Obviously, he was the finest baby in the Easter parade.
